Q) WHO IS THE FACILITATOR OF THE COURSE, IS IT AN EDITORIAL ARTIST, WEHRE IS IT HELD??
A) International Editorial Artist, and Redken’s Bridal Expert Giovanni GIuntoli guides and coaches you to help you get the best possible hairstyles and photographs. Giovanni intimately shares with you his styling techniques, and behind the scene tricks, he uses on magazine sets, stage and around the world. From iron work, to working with hair extensions and wigs. We cover it all with you on the photo set. With our make up class, MAC makeup artist and MAC educator Moani Lee guides you through creating flawless skin. Build on your existing skill set or start creating techniques. Feel confident to step out and try something new to compliment your talents in hair by offering more to your clientele. All this happens in the heart of New York City.
Q) HOW MANY ATTENDEES ARE IN A TEARSHEET COURSE?
A) We are strong believers in attendee focused training. We hold no more than 6 attendees in a course. This allows you to have a close 1 to 1 ratio with our team members. It allows for direct education and guidance and a focused trained eye for you. Giovanni works closely with each attendee and coaches you on how to get the best hair for the shot.
Q) HOW MANY DAYS IS THE TEARSHEET COURSE?
A) Our courses are 3 day courses. Saturday is packed full of hands on, lunch with Giovanni and our photographer, business of being a freelance artist, magazine imagery, and to top it off we through a cocktail party so attendees can meet and greet other great freelance artists. Sunday and Monday are full days of shooting. Sunday’s focus is beauty and Monday is for fashion. Both Sunday and Monday expect to finish around 6:00 pm.
Q) HOW CAN I USE THE PHOTOS FROM TEARSHEET? HOW MANY DO WE GET ON THE DISC?
A) These photos are your to use to promote your talent and build your portfolio. They can also be used on your personal and salon website. These are reflections of your work of the highest possible quality and style. They can be hung in your salon or placed in your salon trend book to showcase, to your salon guests, the level of work you can deliver. The only usage that would have to be discussed is the use of the photos in advertising placements, magazine advertisements, or commercials. Any questions or concerns can be passed through your Tearsheet network to get the answers you need.
Q) HOW IS THE OVERALL FEELING AND SETUP OF THE CLASS?
A) Giovanni wants you to feel what its like to be on a high end magazine photo shoot. We carefully put all the aspects of a magazine shoot together and infused world class education into it. The take home is not only high quality photographs of your hairstyles, but also intense education to help you not only on your next shoot, but also in the salon, and in your business.
Q) WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO BE A PART OF THE TEARSHEET ARTISTIC TEAM?
A) You only need to graduate from at least one Tearsheet course. On photo sets and backstage during runway shows, there needs to be a level of experience before sending any one artist out on their own. We want you to feel confident knowing that you have had editorial experience and education by one of the best out there Giovanni Giuntoli.
Q) WHO IS PART OF THE TEARSHEET ARTISTIC NETWORK? CAN ANYONE JOIN?
A) You need only be a graduate of one of Tearsheet’s editorial courses to become a member of the Artistic Network. Our graduates consist of international artists including salon owners, salon stylists, NYC freelance artists and international artists, spokespersons, and leading product line educators from all over.
Q) DO I GET MY OWN MODEL EACH DAY?
A) Yes, everyone gets their own agency represented models. These models make a living from modeling for magazines, and runway work
Q) WHERE DO WE SHOOT MY HAIRSTYLES? DO I HELP ON SET WHILE MY MODEL IS BEING PHOTOGRAPHED?
A) We shoot your hairstyles in the heart of NYC across the street from world renown Fashion institute F.I.T. Tearsheet is designed to give you an experience of a magazine photo shoot infused with education from top editorial hairstylists and fellow artists. You will not only create hairstyles, you will work closely with your photographer on set working with a wind machine or adding the final touches to the perfect shot.
Q) DO I NEED TO PURCHASE ANYTHING ELSE FROM THE TEARSHEET COURSE?
A)There is nothing else you need to pay for. Your discs will be mailed to you with all of your photographs.
Q) WHERE DO WE EAT IN THE AREA? IS IT EXPENSIVE?
A) We provide breakfast and lunch for the entire team during the 3 days. No need to worry about leaving the studio in search of food, in the meantime, taking time away from your class experience.

Q) DO YOU HAVE INFORMATION ON HOTELS IN THE AREA, WHAT I NEED TO BRING AND TRANSPORTATION?
A) Tearsheet has taken a lot of the guess work out of finding a place to stay, where and how to get to your shoot, and what you need to pack in your kit. We send out your call sheet packet approximately 2 months from the start of your class.
Q) WILL I HAVE FUN?
A) Absolutely! You will be working with fellow artists that love what they do. They all believe in getting the best shot, helping those around, and giving back. Giovanni is easy and fun to work with and believes in an open door type of class where nothing is hidden and everything is shared.
